Hello and welcome to this week's Wildern Weekly. The sun was shining bright this week, making it feel like summer had returned. Our Race for Life event couldn't have been better timed. Students and staff alike enjoyed a 5k run on a dry and warm field. Thank you to everyone that participated, supported or donated to the event. We have already raised over £2200 of our £3000 target and our just giving page is still open. If you would like to donate please click here.
Our Year 10 'Experience of a Workplace Evening' this week was a huge success! Parents and students attended in large numbers, demonstrating their commitment to building a strong home-school partnership. Don't forget to mark your calendars for October 12th at 6pm: our first 'Quiz and Chips' event of the year! Enjoy a fun evening filled with trivia, a fantastic raffle, and a chance to win amazing prizes. We hope to see you there, sign up on Parent Pay!
Are you interested in making a difference at Wildern? Join our Wildern Parent Community Group! We're seeking parents to help plan community events, raise funds for the school, and foster a stronger sense of belonging. Sign up here and we will be in touch soon.

How to contact us
At Wildern School, we value a strong and positive partnership with our parents. We encourage open communication and believe the best approach is to reach out directly to us first. If you have any questions, concerns, or simply want to connect with us, please don't hesitate to email us at wildern@wildern.org.
Social media is not the most effective way to address school matters. By approaching us with kindness, politeness, and consideration, we can work together as a team. Please remember, we share the same goal: to ensure your child's success and happiness. We want to foster a collaborative home-school partnership where we work together, to achieve the best possible outcomes for your child.

Wellbeing and how to get help in school
|
Supporting the wellbeing of our students is a priority at Wildern. We understand that a positive and supportive learning environment is crucial for our students to reach their full potential. Wildern is committed to promoting physical, emotional, and social wellbeing through various opportunities.
Students can access:
- our Wellbeing Hub on the school website
- a counselling drop in service every Break 1 Monday - Thursday
- submit concerns confidentially on the #talk2us form (these are picked up by the pastoral team)
- learning about external support, triggers and strategies in our Education for life health and wellbeing units
- our broad co-curricular programme offering unique opportunities across all subjects
By fostering a sense of belonging and providing necessary support, we aim to create a thriving environment where students can learn, grow, and flourish.
|
Following the success of the Race for Life event, we will shortly be launching our annual Shoebox appeal. This is a great way for students to get involved in creating or helping to create a Christmas gift that is sent aboard to disadvantaged children in countries such as Albania, Romania and Ukraine.

Wellbeing Counselling Drop in Service
|
Our School Counsellor will be running a Drop-In Service this term on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during Break 1 (11am to 11.25am), in the counselling room based in the Community Hub.
- The Drop-In service is available to all Wildern students without exception. It is an open door policy, no appointment needed.
- It would suit students that don't want/need counselling sessions, but want quick access and a chat with the counsellor for guidance/advice etc.
- These are not counselling sessions however the counsellor maintains the same confidentiality boundaries with students using the Drop-In.
- Counsellor does not share/disclose Drop-In conversations with any staff member unless there are safeguarding concerns.
