What a busy first week back we have had after the much needed half term break. There have been trips to the theatre (Blood Brothers and & Juliet) as well as a group of our Year 10 students having the opportunity to visit St Hilda's College at Oxford University. You can also see some of the photos below from the hugely successful Year 10 trip to Iceland over the half term break.
It was also fantastic to see so many Year 7 families attending our meet the tutor evening last night - we hope this was helpful for you and would love to hear your feedback on this face to face event.
We thought it might be helpful to know a little bit more about the First aid room especially as we move into the winter months where bugs and viruses are more common. We would appreciate your support with reinforcing with your child that they should go to first aid (where possible) at lunch and break time rather than coming out of lessons and missing valuable learning time, and if they come out of lessons they must have a pink pass for this.

Mayor of Eastleigh visit - School Olympics
|
|
|
We were delighted to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Eastleigh to Wildern on Monday 21st October.
They came to congratulate our students who took part in the Partner School Olympics in September and were so impressed with the determination and pride that our students showed while competing in Kornwestheim, Germany.
We won medals in athletics, swimming, football and basketball. All our students showed great determination in competing against some very good students from France, Germany, Spain and India. Our students should be proud of their achievements and respect shown to other competitors.

Talk money week : 4-8 November
|
|
|
During this week we have been taking part in 'talk money week' by encouraging open conversations about money with your child.
During tutor time, they have been learning valuable money management skills, including:
- evaluating their current money habits
- exploring ways to earn money
- learning how to save money effectively
- distinguishing between essential purchases and non-essential purchases
By discussing these topics, we hope to empower your child to make informed financial decisions both now and in their future.

Anti-Bullying Week : 11-15 November
|
Next week, our school will be participating in Anti-Bullying Week, a vital initiative aimed at raising awareness and promoting a culture of respect and kindness among our students. This year's theme is Respect, a value that is essential in creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone.
Throughout the week, students will engage in various activities designed to foster understanding and empathy, that encourage students to reflect on their own behaviour and the impact it has on others. By emphasising respect, we hope to empower our students to stand up against bullying and support their peers.
As parents, your involvement is crucial. We encourage you to have open conversations with your children about respect and the importance of treating others with kindness. Discuss scenarios they might encounter and how they can respond positively. There is some guidance on this here. Let’s work together to ensure our school remains a welcoming place for all. Thank you for your continued support in making our community a better place!
