Hello, and welcome to the last edition of the Wildern Weekly for this school year!
The end of term is fast approaching and we cannot believe how time has flown this year. Once more our students have shown commitment, energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude to their learning; they embrace all the opportunities afforded to them. The school site has been a hive of activity, with smiling, eager faces enjoying all our summer activities offer including Paultons Park, Sports Day and today's Day to Create, to name but a few!
When we look back on this year we can see so many achievements from individual to team successes, major productions as well as concerts, dance showcases, day trips, experiences of higher education and speakers in lessons. All of this adds to the rich experiences we hope all students benefit from as they journey through the school.
On top of this, our students have been recognised for their energy, talent and hard work across the year with over 220,000 positive e-refs and that is not counting all the postcards that arrive on the door mat! This is such an amazing achievement!

We are excited to be launching our Summer reading challenge, in partnership with ‘The Day’!
It is important that over the Summer, students keep practising their reading skills. One way to do this is to engage with non-fiction writing in the form of current affairs and newspaper articles.
This is where our subscription to the Day can help! If your child logs into their ‘The Day’ account every day between 21 July and 29 August to read the daily articles, they will pick up clues to add to their reading ‘passport’.
All completed ‘passports’ will be entered into a draw to win a £50 Amazon voucher. All participants will receive a certificate and a small prize in school.

We have been blessed with wonderful weather today on our Day to Create. There have been lots of creative activities taking place across the school including painting stools, benches and a mural on the Block 5 wall, creating teraniums, modelling shapes and mathematical formulae on the field, creating bunting, composing songs, adverts, models and mosaics along with many many more.
We started our wellbeing garden journey with Leigh Johnstone the Beardy Gardener. He will be back in September to start planting. We have landscapers in over the summer to lay the path.
We will share more about Day to Create on our social media channels and in September.

What Parents & Educators Need to Know about Staying Safe online this Summer
With the school summer holidays only a matter of days away, many parents and carers will already be planning outings and activities to keep their young ones entertained. In between those special summer moments, though, there are also likely to be occasions when children happily invest a whole afternoon in Among Us or spend most of their Monday on Minecraft.
As young people’s screen time almost inevitably increases over the holidays, parents like to feel confident that their child will stay safe while they’re exploring the digital world. So we’ve produced a poster with some simple solutions to help children avoid frequent online pitfalls and enjoy a more positive experience when they go online this summer.
